Nigredo Studios was founded in 2005, originally working on the acclaimed mod Night Fall. We are now seeking talented staff to join our Indy team on Codename Prime.

We expect all people submitting applications to have experience on Valve’s Source Engine, access to broadband, spare time, and at least the following software;

-          Tortoise SVN Subversion Client

-          Windows XP or latter

-          Quality antivirus and up to date definitions

-          Other items as needed from time to time

-          Half-Life 2: Episode 2 & the Orange Box SDK

-          Steam

-          Skype, and MSN accounts

Line

2x C++ Programmers

-          Experience with Source Episode 2 SDK.

-          Ability to port code from older versions of Source, and squash any bugs from porting as a result.

-          Own Visual Studio 2005 (Express is ok).

-          Able to program new weapons from the design document.

-          Ability to program, or adapt existing AI to follow the complex ideas, and examples in the design document.

-          Able to communicate effectively in both written, and verbal English to express ideas, and understand game play concepts, and instructions from project managers.

-          Use constructive criticism to improve on your work, while generating constructive criticism on other team member’s work, allowing them to improve on theirs.

-          Other work as needed, or requested.

Line

1x 2D Artist

-          Able to generate texture sets for level designers as requested

-          Paint UV maps for models as needed.

-          Generate promotional material from scratch, or adapt existing assets.

-          Have working knowledge of 3ds max, and Hammer editor to check that art assets match the requirements as requested.

-          Able to communicate effectively in both written, and verbal English to express ideas, and understand game play concepts, and instructions from project managers.

-          Use constructive criticism to improve on your work, while generating constructive criticism on other team member’s work, allowing them to improve on theirs.

-          Own Photoshop CS1 or better, Crazy Bump, or understand how to tweak nVidia tools to generate normal maps

-          Other work as needed, or requested.

Line

2x 3D Artist / Modeller

-          Generate mesh for assets as request by level designers to complete map goals.

-          Generate mesh for in game weapons, & NPC’s form concept art, to meet the specifications outlined in the Design Document (Some model mesh will need you to think outside the box, as only limited concept art has been generated for some assets).

-          Generate optimized UV Maps, for 2d artist to paint.

-          Have working knowledge of 3ds max, and Hammer editor to check that art assets match the requirements as requested.

-          Compile and import completed mesh into the game.

-          Rig & animate mesh as needed, to meet the requirements of the design document & or the needs of the request.

-          Able to communicate effectively in both written, and verbal English to express ideas, and understand game play concepts, and instructions from project managers.

-          Use constructive criticism to improve on your work, while generating constructive criticism on other team member’s work, allowing them to improve on theirs.

-          Own 3DS Max 8.0, or have the correct & working plug-ins for any latter versions

-          Other work as needed, or requested.

Line

3x Level designers

-          Generate BSP, and compile levels with Valve Hammer with assets generated by the 2D & 3D artists, while following concept art, and requirement lists from the design documents

-          Able to communicate effectively in both written, and verbal English to express ideas, and understand game play concepts, and instructions from project managers.

-          Use constructive criticism to improve on your work, while generating constructive criticism on other team member’s work, allowing them to improve on theirs.

-          Other work as needed, or requested.

-          Request assets as needed in order to complete the level

Line

1x Audio Engineer

-          Generate audio assets to meet the requirements of;

  • The design documents.
  • Level designers as needed.
  • 3D Artists as needed.

-          Have working knowledge of, and Hammer editor to check that art assets match the requirements as requested, or enhance the look & feel of a level.

-          Able to communicate effectively in both written, and verbal English to express ideas, and understand game play concepts, and instructions from project managers.

-          Use constructive criticism to improve on your work, while generating constructive criticism on other team member’s work, allowing them to improve on theirs.

-          Other work as needed, or requested.
